"Business" Objective: Grow mustaches as a fundraiser for prostate cancer research, joining the Movember fundraising campaign.
Technical Challenges:
- Bringing a team together.
- Reaching out to friends and family for fundraising and spirit.
- Ridiculousness of new mustache growth.
Technical Solution: The Posterous blog platform allowed teammates to post photos or updates by email. Friends and supporters could subscribe to updates by email or by RSS.
Successes: Eight mustaches grown, more than twenty-five hundred dollars raised for cancer research. And, come December, eight itchy lips relieved by shaving.
